In 2025, the HUBIoC project will launch , an innovative initiative that seeks to strengthen the internationalization of the curriculum (IoC) at higher education institutions in Latin America and Europe. Coordinated by the Technological University of Pereira (UTP) and funded by the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education program , this project brings together universities from Colombia, Argentina, Spain, and Romania with the aim of transforming higher education through innovative methodologies, global classrooms, and international cooperation networks.
HUBIoC was born in response to the challenges universities faced during the pandemic, highlighting the need to modernize curricula and strengthen virtual environments. Through institutional assessments, teacher training, and the establishment of cooperation networks, the project seeks to democratize pedagogical tools that allow students to develop intercultural and global competencies.
Among its main goals, HUBIoC proposes the creation of five teams of global leaders in IoC , the implementation of technologically equipped global classrooms , the training of teachers in innovative pedagogical practices and the publication of a manual on curriculum internationalization .
The impact of HUBIoC will be significant not only in improving educational quality but also in strengthening strategic alliances between universities in different regions. Furthermore, the project will promote inclusion and diversity, ensuring the participation of underrepresented communities in internationalization processes.
With the launch of HUBIoC in 2025, a new era in higher education begins, promoting learning that is more connected to global dynamics and strengthening the role of universities as key players in international cooperation.
